Bernard Parks Sued By Family Of Slain Rapper Biggie Smalls

In April 2002, Los Angeles Police Department Chief Bernard Parks was named in a wrongful death suit filed by the relatives of slain rapper Christopher Wallace (a.k.a. Notorious B.I.G. and Biggie Smalls). The lawsuit claimed that the LAPD failed to investigate threats against Wallace despite knowledge that members of a street gang "had consistently exhibited significant animosity" towards the musician.
